If you are looking for a private cottage in Sohra/Cherrapunjee to reconnect with yourself and nature, you have come to the right place. One of the most loved Cherapunjee property, is nestled in the misty hills of Cherrapunji, a simple getaway from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. The place offers a unique blend of traditional Khasi hospitality and comfortable lodging as you live as close to nature as possible amongst the creeks, meadows and crags typical of Sohra. Unlike hotels in Cherrapunjee, this is a place for people that enjoy lying down on the grass and absorbing the magical starry skies and musical sound of the wind over the open mountains. Families with children are especially welcome at our place, as we have found that children, more than adults, love running and hiking around the park, playing on the sand banks of the river and generally exploring the place.
The traditional cottages have all the basic necessities for a comfortable stay but they have purposefully been made minimal and rustic, as the idea is to provide a wholesome experience of life in the towns and village of the hills. The hosts also try to reduce the impact that tourism causes on their beautiful hills; therefore, they are against surplus usage of resources, which means there are no TVs, telephones or Wi-Fi in the rooms. During the monsoons, the place sometime face extreme rainfall and thunderstorm and electricity supply gets disconnected. Although they do have a two-layer backup, solar light and a fuel-powered generator, on rare occasions even these might not be sufficient. On those occasions, the staff will provide you candles, torches, etc. for the time (not too long) that electricity comes back on, and help you out with any inconvenience. If you enjoy open spaces, nature and everything that is a part of it, then this is the place for you.
The wettest place in the world! YES its Cherapunjee experience a stay which is world-famous for its weather in a cottage with open space outside to sit and enjoy the weather and also there are sit-outs just outside the room to enjoy the view even in the rainfall, which is quite often in the place.
The less travelled and less explored North-East is now calling you all, and guess what whenever you’re in Cherapunjee, you are always close the one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site i.e. Living Root Double-Decker Bridge. Remember your G.K. book pics ? Well now is the time to recall those pics while you visit this heritage site while being in the wettest place of not only India but of the world.
